Case description:

Member of Cuba's medical brigade sent to Venezuela from Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba, who was found dead, the cause was officially reported as unknown. He had been forced to work and live in very poor conditions in Lossada, Zulia state, Venezuela, and to survey the population for persons with symptoms of coronavirus during the pandemic without any protective gear. There was speculation that he died of a heart attack or coronavirus. His colleagues were suspicious of the circumstances of his death or why the body was reportedly found two days after his death given that the internationalists share living quarters.

Miembro de la brigada médica cubana enviada a Venezuela desde Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba, quien fue hallado muerto, la causa fue reportada oficialmente como desconocida. Había sido obligado a trabajar y vivir en muy malas condiciones en Lossada, estado de Zulia, Venezuela, y a realizar un estudio de la población en busca de personas con síntomas de coronavirus durante la pandemia sin ningún equipo de protección. Se especuló que murió de un infarto o de coronavirus. Sus colegas sospechan de las circunstancias de su muerte o de por qué, según los informes, el cuerpo no fue encontrado hasta dos días después de su muerte, a pesar de que los internacionalistas comparten la vivienda.
