Case description:

Killed when the speed boat in which he was trying to escape from Cuba with 20 other persons was repeatedly rammed by a Cuban Border Guard vessel. Cuba's official press reported it as an "accident" but family members said the Border Guard rammed the boat give times to stop it from leaving the island. The Cuban government said that the other 20 passengers (16 men and 4 women) were rescued, two were injured in the collision. The victim's family denounced that the body had been submitted to an autopsy without their consent and that they had been denied information of the circumstances of death.

Murió cuando la lancha rápida en la que intentaba escapar de Cuba con 20 otras personas fue embestida cinco veces por una lancha de la Guardia Fronteriza en la costa norte de Cayo Coco, provincia de Ciego de Ávila. La prensa oficial de Cuba lo reportó como un "accidente", pero los familiares dijeron que la Guardia Fronteriza embistió el bote para asegurarse de que las 21 personas a bordo, 17 hombres y 4 mujeres, no pudieran salir de la isla.
