Case description:

One of the protesters in Placetas of the July 11, 2021 mass demonstrations all over Cuba who died in the hospital a few hours after being detained (at 6pm that same day) for an accusation by his ex-partner of "burglary of residence and threat with a weapon" over "passion problems." The authorities reported that the death resulted from a suicide, that Roque had been assisted by officers of the National Revolutionary Police unit, "who quickly transferred him" to the hospital, and that medical personnel had tried to save him.  They also promised "the pertinent investigations into this unfortunate event."

Uno de los manifestantes del 11 de julio de 2021 en Placetas que falleció en el hospital pocas horas después de haber sido arrestado y detenido (a las 6pm de ese mismo día) por una acusación de su expareja por “violación de domicilio y amenaza con arma blanca por 'problemas pasionales." Las autoridades reportaron que la muerte fue "consecuencia de un suicidio" y que Roque fue "auxiliado por los oficiales de la Unidad de la Policía Nacional Revolucionaria, "quienes lo trasladaron rápidamente y que los esfuerzos del personal médico no lograron salvarion; asimismo, prometieron que se harían "las investigaciones pertinentes sobre este lamentable hecho".  El fallecido fue descrito por La Página de Mauro Torres como alguien de "una pésima conducta social", que había sido procesado con anterioridad por "los delitos de Lesiones, Actividad Económica Ilícita y Desorden Público".
