Case description:

Victim of a traffic accident in Mexico, presumably seeking to reach the United States. Three other Cubans traveling in the same vehicle were taken to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Mexico. The driver, Rogelio Leyva, who was allegedly speeding, lost control of the car and crashed into the retaining road barrier in the vicinity of Mexico City's International Airport. Erenia was riding in the front seat and received the strongest and most direct impact. She was reportedly part of a group of Cuban health workers recently hired by the Mexican government from the Cuban regime. It is unknown whether the four were attempting to escape to the U.S. border. According to her Facebook page, she was a specialist in chemical testing, had been in Mexico since at least April 2024 and had two children in Cuba.
