Case description:

A former member of Fidel Castro's security detail (Seguridad Personal, operational unit) who died in mysterious circumstances, his death believed to have been caused by state agents. Ramses had established a romantic relationship with Fidel´s niece Mariela (Raúl Castro's daughter) and secretly married her without her family's permission. When news of the marriage surfaced, Fidel and Raúl were very angry and Ramses was demoted from Fidel's security detail, but Raúl arranged for Mariela and him to be assigned an apartment and had him transferred to the counterintelligence service to work in one of the state enterprises. Ramses died in mysterious circumstances some time later with a shot to the head from the gun of one of his companions in an alleged accident while trying to subdue an individual who was not armed or violent.  Lt. Col. Juan Reynaldo Sánchez, who was part of Fidel's closest bodyguards claims Ramsés' death was not investigated adequately, the case quickly closed, and Mayor Molina, who led the autopsy, became very nervous when Sánchez asked him about the death; he asked that, for their mutual security, to never bring it up again. Ramses former peers all believed that Ramses was most likely assassinated for his transgression by order of Raúl Castro. He had two daughters with Mariela who were apparently raised by their paternal grandmother and are said to not have relations with the Castro family.

Ex miembro del destacamento de seguridad de Fidel Castro (Seguridad Personal, unidad operativa) que murió en circunstancias misteriosas, se cree que su muerte fue causada por agentes del Estado. Ramsés había establecido una relación sentimental con la sobrina de Fidel, Mariela (hija de Raúl Castro) y se casó en secreto con ella sin el permiso de su familia. Cuando se conoció la noticia del matrimonio, Fidel y Raúl estuvieron muy enojados y Ramsés fue degradado del destacamento de seguridad de Fidel, pero Raúl dispuso que a Mariela y a él se les asignara un apartamento y lo transfirieran al servicio de contrainteligencia para trabajar en una de las empresas estatales. . Ramsés murió en circunstancias misteriosas tiempo después con un disparo en la cabeza de la pistola de uno de sus compañeros en un presunto accidente mientras intentaba someter a un individuo que no estaba armado ni era violento. El teniente coronel Juan Reynaldo Sánchez, quien formó parte de los guardaespaldas más cercanos de Fidel afirma que la muerte de Ramsés no fue investigada adecuadamente, el caso se cerró rápidamente y el Mayor Molina, quien dirigió la autopsia, se puso muy nervioso cuando Sánchez le preguntó sobre la muerte; le pidió que, por su seguridad mutua, nunca volviera a sacar el tema. Todos los ex compañeros de Ramsés creen que Ramsés probablemente fue asesinado por su transgresión por orden de Raúl Castro. Tenía dos hijas con Mariela que aparentemente fueron criadas por su abuela paterna y se dice que no tienen relaciones con la familia Castro.
