Case description:

Afro-Cuban common prisoner started to complain of strong chest pain in the early morning and was taken to the prison clinic, but sent back to his cell without treatment. He continued to plead for medical care and fellow prisoners called on prison guards twice to take him for treatment, but the warden refused. He was finally taken to the clinic again at night, in critical condition. The doctor did not check him, said he was faking it, and sent him back to his cell; he died five minutes later, apparently of a heart attack.

Preso común afrocubano comenzó a quejarse de un fuerte dolor en el pecho temprano en la mañana y fue llevado a la clínica de la prisión, pero devuelto a su celda sin tratamiento. Continuó pidiendo atención médica y sus compañeros de prisión llamaron dos veces a los guardias de la prisión para que lo llevaran a recibir tratamiento, pero el director se negó. Finalmente fue trasladado nuevamente a la clínica por la noche, en estado crítico. El médico no lo revisó, dijo que estaba fingiendo y lo envió de regreso a su celda; murió cinco minutos después, aparentemente de un infarto.
