Case description:

Member of the Catholic Youth and altar boy sent to a UMAP work camp as punishment. He was shot to death leaving his parents' house in Marianao for having escaped the camp. The body was returned to the family at the Hospital Naval, where he had laid near death for two weeks after the shooting. The death certificate listed no cause of death and he was buried at Cementerio Colón, Havana. Around 30,000 men, mostly young, were sent to around 200 UMAP (Unidades Militares de Ayuda a la Producción) hard labor camps between 1965-68 in punishment for their "ideological deviation."

Miembro de la Juventud Católica y monaguillo enviado a un campo de trabajo de la UMAP como castigo. Fue muerto a tiros al salir de la casa de sus padres en Marianao por haber escapado del campamento. El cuerpo fue devuelto a la familia en el Hospital Naval, donde estuvo al borde de la muerte durante dos semanas después de ser baleado. El certificado de defunción no indicaba la causa de la muerte y fue enterrado en el Cementerio Colón, La Habana.
