Case description:

Member of the 2506 Brigade (of Cuban exiles) killed when his B-26 crash landed in the Nicaraguan jungle on a return trip from the Bay of Pigs invasion that sought, but failed, to liberate Cuba from Castro's Communist regime with U.S. government (CIA) support. His body was recovered 37 years after his plane crashed in a mission led by Janet Ray Weininger, daughter of U.S. pilot killed during the Bay of Pigs invasion, Capt. Thomas Ray. He had been a Captain (pilot) and former military officer of the pre-Castro Consitutional Army of Cuba.

Miembro de la Brigada 2506 (de exiliados cubanos) que murió cuando su avión B-26 se estrelló en la selva nicaragüense en un viaje de regreso de la invasión de Bahía de Cochinos que buscó, pero no logró, liberar a Cuba del régimen comunista de Castro con apoyo del gobierno de los EE. UU. (CIA). Sus restos fueron recuperado 37 años después en una misión dirigida por Janet Ray Weininger, hija del piloto estadounidense muerto durante la invasión de la Bahía de Cochinos, el Capitán Thomas Ray. García Fernández había sido Capitán (piloto) y ex oficial militar del Ejército Constitucional de Cuba anterior a Castro.
