Case description:

Was sent to Alicante, Spain, in October 2000 to work in a construction brigade (presumably as a temporary worker of the Cuban state). He worked for the firm Celulimp, owned by Juan Ángel Sirvent Seguí, one of the last persons known to have had contact with him. He stayed in regular touch with his mother in Cuba through letters, photos and telephone calls, making his last contact on March 28, 2003. His disappearance was reported to Spanish police in Alicante, but officially remains under investigation. The Spanish embassy in Cuba has told the family, who suspects he was murdered, that they should hire a lawyer.

Fue enviado a Alicante, España, en octubre de 2000 para trabajar en una brigada de construcción (presumiblemente como trabajador temporal del estado cubano). Trabajó para la firma Celulimp, propiedad de Juan Ángel Sirvent Seguí, una de las últimas personas conocidas que tuvo contacto con él. Mantuvo contacto regular con su madre en Cuba a través de cartas, fotos y llamadas telefónicas, haciendo su último contacto el 28 de marzo de 2003. Su desaparición fue denunciada a la policía española en Alicante, pero oficialmente permanece bajo investigación. La embajada de España en Cuba ha dicho a la familia,, que sospecha que fue asesinado, que contrate un abogado.
