Case description:

At the end of the 1970s, Cuba entered into an official agreement with then Democractic Republic of Germany to send Cuban workers to Germany; as a result 30,000 men and women were sent to work in East Germany or Communist Germany. Several of these Cuban workers got into a fight at a bar in the city of Marsburg; a mob threw them into the river Saale and launched stones and bottles at them from a bridge. Two of the Cubans were killed. The STASI, East Germany's secret police, hid the true nature of the deaths and the families of the deceased, in Cuba, were told they had been killed in an accident. German historian Harry Waibel found the information in the files of the former STASI.  The Cuban Ambassador in Germany at the time later told the media that Fidel and Raul Castro had given instructions to minimize the deaths and ignore the incident, as their economic relations with then Communist Germany were regarded as a priority.

A fines de la década de 1970, Cuba celebró un acuerdo oficial con la entonces República Democrática de Alemania para enviar trabajadores cubanos a Alemania; como resultado, 30.000 hombres y mujeres fueron enviados a trabajar en Alemania Oriental o Alemania Comunista. Varios de estos trabajadores cubanos se pelearon en un bar de la ciudad de Marsburg; una turba los arrojó al río Saale y les lanzó piedras y botellas desde un puente. Dos de los cubanos murieron.
