Case description:

Partner of an employment service killed instantly when a bomb ripped through the first floor personnel office of the Mobil Oil Corporation in the Mobil Oil Building of Manhattan. The Cuba-sponsored Puerto Rican terrorist group FALN (Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional) claimed responsibility. Steinberg had stopped by to see if there were any jobs for his applicants. Seven other persons were injured in the bombing. 22 year old Marie Haydée Beltrán Torres, a Puerto Rican nationalist, was identified through a fingerprint found at the site, tried, convicted, and sentenced to life in prison for the bombing and was released in 2009.
Testimony by expert witnesses to the U.S. Senate confirmed that the FALN was organized in 1974 by Cuba’s Intelligence Directorate (Dirección General de Inteligencia -DGI) in collaboration with Puerto Rican nationalist Filiberto Ojeda Ríos, who already had a long history of political violence. Three defectors from Cuban intelligence have confirmed that FALN was sponsored and financed by the Cuban regime and that some of its leaders were provided safe haven in Cuba.

Socio en una empresa de servicio de empleos murió cuando una bomba explotó en la oficina de personal de la Mobil Oil Corporation en el edificio Mobil Oil de Manhattan. El grupo terrorista puertorriqueño FALN (Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional), patrocinado por Cuba, asumió responsabilidad del atentado.  Steinberg  había ido a ver si había algún trabajo para sus solicitantes. Otras siete personas resultaron heridas en el atentado terrorista.  Marie Haydée Beltrán Torres, de 22 años, una nacionalista puertorriqueña, fue identificada a través de una huella digital encontrada en el sitio, juzgada, convicta y condenado a cadena perpetua por el atentado y fue luego puesta en libertad en 2009. Testimonios de peritos del Senado de los Estados Unidos confirmaron que la FALN fue organizada en 1974 por la Dirección General de Inteligencia -DGI, en colaboración con el filipino puertorriqueño Filiberto Ojeda Ríos, que ya tenía una larga historia de violencia política.  Tres desertores de la inteligencia cubana han confirmado que históricamente el régimen cubano ha auspiciado y financiado a la FALN y refugiado a terroristas puertorrigueños en Cuba.
