Case description:

Young prisoner who suffered from severe bronchial asthma and was frequently hospitalized.  On April 22, 2007, he was taken to Miguel Enríquez Hospital with a severe asthma crisis, with a heartbeat of over one hundred fifty per minute, hypertensive crisis, general edema and possibly a pulmonary embolism.  However, Dr. Pedro de Armas, who was treating him, sent him back to the prison hours later, stating that Jorrín was no longer in critical condition and that he was pretending to be in a worse condition than he actually was. Two days later, Jorrín was again transferred to Miguel Enríquez Hospital in a coma, with severe respiratory and cardiovascular problems.  He died at 6PM, hooked up to a ventilator.

Joven preso que padecía asma bronquial grave y era hospitalizado con frecuencia. El 22 de abril de 2007 fue trasladado al Hospital Miguel Enríquez con una grave crisis de asma, latidos superiores a los ciento cincuenta por minuto, crisis hipertensiva, edema generalizado y posiblemente una embolia pulmonar. Sin embargo, el doctor Pedro de Armas, quien lo estaba atendiendo, lo envió de regreso a la cárcel horas después, indicando que Jorrín ya no se encontraba en estado crítico y que fingía estar en peor estado de lo que realmente estaba. Dos días después, Jorrín fue trasladado nuevamente al Hospital Miguel Enríquez en coma, con severos problemas respiratorios y cardiovasculares. Murió a las 6 de la tarde, conectado a un ventilador.
