Case description:

Due to his anti-government activities, Ernesto lost his job at the Empresa de Geodesia y Cartografía where he worked as a Surveyor. In 1984, he was given a job as administrator in a grocery that had administrative problems. He was imprisoned in 1985 and sentenced to 20 years in prison for the illicit sale of liquor and contraband of farm products. While In prison, his original sentence was increased by 6 years. In protest he stripped naked, shouted slogans against the Castro government, stopped eating and refused to see his family. According to prison officials, he later committed suicide by hanging himself from the top of his cell using a bed sheet. A great-aunt said that the last time she saw him, he talked in a tangled way as if he had been given hallucinogens.

Por sus ideas contrarias a Castro fue separado de su centro de trabajo en la Empresa de Geodesia y Cartografía donde funcionaba como Topógrafo. En 1984 le dieron trabajo como administrador en un Mercado con problemas administrativos. Cayó preso en 1985 y FUE SENTENCIADO A 20 AÑOS por el delito de venta ilícita de licores y contrabando de productos del campo.  En prisión le aumentaron 6 años a su sentencia, en protesta se desnudó, gritó consignas en contra del Gobierno de Castro, dejó de comer y se negó a ver a la familia. Apareció colgado con una sábana en el techo de su celda. Una tía abuela dijo que la última vez que lo vio hablaba  enredado como si le hubieran dado alucinógenos.
