Cuban American National Foundation, Quilt of Fidel Castro's Genocide, 1994, erroneously has him assassinated in prison in 1963.  WAQI-Radio Mambí, p. 11, has him dying in Boniato Prison, province of Oriente.  Circuito Sur, July 2002, p. 71; and Nuestra Cuba, 1998, p. 10, have him assassinated at Boniato Prison on January 22, 1964.  Instituto de la memoria histórica, www.cubamemorial.net/listado, reports the victim as a prisoner at La Sierra de Coralillo prison in Las Villas who committed suicide on January 13, 1964.  Encinosa, 1989, p. 159; Beruvides, 1993, p. 165; Cuban American National Foundation, Quilt of Fidel Castro's Genocide, 1994; Nuestra Cuba, 1998, p. 97; and Circuito Sur, July 2002, p. 71, report the victim as Emilio Rivera Pérez, a small farmer and Escambray guerrilla rebel last living in Manuel, province of Las Villas (now Villa Clara), killed in combat at Providence Sugar Mill, province of Las Villas, in December 1963.
