Case description:

Executed on charges of counterrevolution. A baker, he was part of an anti-Castro resistance network operating in the area of Camazán, Holguín, province of Oriente. A large group was captured (many were bakers and pastry chefs) and executed. He was taken to a police station in Holguin, then to Boniato prison in Santiago, summarily tried after 5-6 months, and executed immediately after the trial (eight men one day and eight men the following day). The family was not informed of the trial or the execution and was not provided the remains. Later they were told he was buried at a location in Santiago de Cuba, where the family placed a plaque. They were told that Raúl Castro ordered the mass execution. He left three small children, two daughters and a son who was only six months old. The seven men executed the same day were Carlos Hidalgo, Rosel Trujillo, José Avila Gamez, Pepe Orencio Avila, Antonio Rochet Cruz, José Serrano, Esneides Pupo Alvarez. Nro. Fusilado bajo la acusación de contrarrevolución. Panadero, formaba parte de una red de resistencia anticastrista que operaba en la zona de Camazán, Holguín, provincia de Oriente. Un grupo numeroso fue capturado (muchos eran panaderos y pasteleros) y fusilado. Fue llevado a una estación de policía en Holguín, luego a la prisión de Boniato en Santiago, juzgado sumariamente después de 5-6 meses y ejecutado inmediatamente después del juicio (ocho hombres un día y ocho hombres al día siguiente). La familia no fue informada del juicio ni de la ejecución y no se le entregaron los restos. Más tarde se les dijo que fue enterrado en un lugar de Santiago de Cuba, donde la familia colocó una placa. Se les dijo que Raúl Castro ordenó la ejecución masiva. Dejó tres niños pequeños, dos hijas y un hijo de solo seis meses.
