Case description:

Was an inmate in the correctional facility for minors Escuela de Formación Integral "José Martí",  also known as "Combinadito del Este,"  in Guanabacoa, Havana. The 14 year old was electrocuted after he was taken with a group of youngsters to pick up trash from the entry to the prison and he climbed the fence to retrieve mangoes from the yard next to the prison and touched a cable deliberately left to harm intruders. The owner of the land was tired of this behavior by young prisoners and had placed a 220 volt electrical cable by the trees to teach intruders a lesson. He fell to the floor foaming at the mouth and died soon thereafter. Curiously, he was transported to the military hospital, 25 minutes away, rather than to the facility for the prison, Hospital Nacional de Reclusos HNR, less than 10 minutes away.

Estaba ppreso en el centro correccional de menores de la Escuela de Formación Integral "José Martí", también conocido como "Combinadito del Este", en Guanabacoa, La Habana. El joven de 14 años fue electrocutado después de ser llevado con un grupo de jóvenes para recoger basura de la entrada a la prisión y subió la valla para tomar mangos del patio junto a la prisión y tocó un cable que estaba puesto deliberadamente para evitar acceso a los intrusos. El dueño de la tierra estaba cansado de este comportamiento por los prisioneros jóvenes y había colocado un cable eléctrico de 220 voltios en los árboles para enseñar a los intrusos una lección. Cayó al suelo espumando por la boca y murió poco después. Curiosamente, fue trasladado al hospital militar, a 25 minutos, y no a la instalación de la prisión, el Hospital Nacional de Reclusos HNR, que estaba a menos de 10 minutos.
