Case description:

Political prisoner serving a sentence for counterrevolutionary activities. He had been in prison for around 5 to 6 years and was being held at the Isla de Pinos prison, where prisoners were subjected to strenuous forced labor and regularly beaten. On December 9, 1966, prison guards randomly opened fire on the prisoners. Eduardo Alvarez Molina died from a shot in the neck. Danny was transferred to the Prince Castle prison hospital, gravely injured with multiple wounds to the waist. Reportedly his medical care was lacking and he died 15 days later. His body was returned to Camajuaní by State Security (G2) the night of December 25, only a funeral of half an hour was allowed before the burial at 9PM. He had been a founding member of the anti-Batista opposition group 26 de julio in his hometown of Camajuaní and had then joined Rebel Army fighting in the Escambray mountains. His courage had earned him widespread respect.

Preso político cumpliendo condena por actividades contrarrevolucionarias. Había estado en prisión entre cinco y seis años y estaba recluido en la prisión de Isla de Pinos, donde los presos eran sometidos a trabajos forzados intensos y frecuentes golpizas. El 9 de diciembre de 1966, los guardias de la prisión abrieron fuego al azar contra los prisioneros. Eduardo Álvarez Molina murió de un disparo en el cuello. Danny fue trasladado al hospital de la prisión del Castillo del Príncipe, con múltiples heridas en la cintura. Según se informa, no recibió atención médica y murió 15 días después. Su cuerpo fue devuelto a Camajuaní por la Seguridad del Estado (G2) la noche del 25 de diciembre, solo se permitió un funeral de media hora antes del entierro a las 21:00 horas.
Había sido miembro fundador del grupo de oposición anti-Batista 26 de julio en su ciudad natal de Camajuaní y luego se había unido al Ejército Rebelde. Su coraje le había ganado un gran respeto.
