Case description:

Political prisoner serving a five year sentence. They took him out with fellow prisoners to conduct a search. He was sitting down eating a sugar cane when a prison guard suddenly opened fire and a bullet went through his heart. Prison authorities claimed he attempted to flee, but there had been many witnesses to the incident. The body was dumped in a filthy truck and delivered to his family's home. There was great public outcry in the city of Manzanillo during his funeral, as many citizens took to the streets, with police unable to contain the crowd. The guard who did the shooting was left unpunished. He left two children.

Preso político que cumplía una condena de cinco años. Lo sacaron con otros prisioneros para realizar un registro de su celda. Estaba sentado comiendo una caña de azúcar cuando un guardia de la prisión abrió fuego repentinamente y una bala atravesó su corazón. Las autoridades de la prisión afirmaron que intentó huir, pero hubieron muchos testigos del incidente. El cuerpo fue arrojado en un camión sucio y entregado a la casa de su familia. Hubo una gran protesta pública en la ciudad de Manzanillo durante su funeral, ya que muchos ciudadanos tomaron las calles y la policía no pudo contener a la multitud.
