Case description:

Private in the pre-Castro Constitutional Army of Cuba executed with his brother and 14 other members of the Armed Forces and police two weeks after the revolutionary government took power. A day earlier, Dionisio Suárez, alias “Cepillo,” had rounded up 13 members of the military who had served under Batista, all from esteemed Camaguey families, and put them through a kangaroo revolutionary trial at the Monteagudo Barracks that lasted just one hour. They were all sentenced to death. Before the execution, Suárez gathered three others who had not had a trial and also had them executed. He reportedly shot the coup d’grace for all 16.

Soldado del Ejército Constitucional de Cuba pre-Castro ejecutado por un pelotón de fusilamiento con su hermano y 14 otros miembros de las Fuerzas Armadas dos semanas después de la llegada al poder del gobierno revolucionario. El día antes, Dionisio Suárez, alias “Cepillo”, detuvo a 13 miembros de las Fuerzas Armadas que habían servido bajo Batista, todos de conocidas y estimadas familias de Camagüey, y las sometió a un juicio revolucionario de una hora en el Cuartel Monteagudo. Todos fueron condenados a muerte. Antes de la ejecución, Suárez buscó a otros tres miembros de las Fuerzas Armadas que no habían sido enjuiciados y también los hizo fusilar. Según los informes, les disparó el tiro de gracia a los 16.
