United States Information Agency, 1994, Year 1964, reports him executed by firing squad at La Cabaña Fortress prison in 1964.  Some sources report that he was tried and sentenced to death as per Judicial Docket No. 711 of 1964.  Cuban American National Foundation, Quilt of Fidel Castro's Genocide, 1994; and Encinosa, 1989, p. 152, report him killed in combat in Sierra de los Organos in the province of Pinar del Río.  Beruvides, 1993, pp. 139-140, also reports him disappearing at sea during an exit attempt.  Circuito Sur, July 2002, p. 51; and Nuestra Cuba, 1999, p. 35, report him killed in combat in Los Palacios, province of Pinar del Río in May 1964.  Cuban American National Foundation, Quilt of Fidel Castro's Genocide, 1994, also reports him as disappeared.  Instituto de la memoria histórica, www.cubamemorial.net/listado, reports him as having committed suicide in Pinar del Río jail on May 20, 1964.  Most sources report the following: 'Organized Frente Unido Occidental (FUO), an anti-Castro guerrilla group. Had engaged in combat against Castro in 1960 in Loma del Toro, Rancho Mundito and Pinar del Río. In May of 1964, he was trapped in a tobacco house and wounded, deciding to shoot himself rather than being captured. He left behind a wife and two children, ages sixteen and twenty-five.' Beruvides, 1993, p. 140; Cuban American National Foundation, Quilt of Fidel Castro's Genocide, 1994; Nuestra Cuba, 1998, p. 35; and Circuito Sur, July 2002, pp. 51 and 53, report him as Esteban Marín Novo, an anti-Castro guerrilla last living in the city of Pinar del Río, killed in combat in the province of Pinar del Río on May 29, 1963.  Circuito Sur, July 2002, p. 53, has him killed in combat in the province of Pinar del Río in May 1959.  Circuito Sur, July 2002, p. 51, has him executed by firing squad in the City of Pinar del Río n June 1959.
