Case description:

Committed suicide by throwing himself head first from the roof of the prison when guards where escorting him back to his cell after having a meeting with the prison's director. He died several hours later at a hospital in Santiago de Cuba from fractures to the head and spine. The following day several prisoners were transferred to Boniato prison for alleging that the victim had committed suicide after claiming his rights for having received a beating by prison guards.

Se suicidó arrojándose de cabeza desde el techo de la prisión cuando los guardias lo escoltaban de regreso a su celda después de tener una reunión con el director de la prisión. Murió varias horas después en un hospital de Santiago de Cuba por fracturas en la cabeza y columna. Al día siguiente, varios presos fueron trasladados al penal de Boniato por alegar que la víctima se había suicidado tras reclamar sus derechos por haber recibido una paliza por parte de los guardias penitenciarios.
