Case description:

Cubana Airlines pilot whose plane, Fl. CU-495, was hijacked by four hijackers of the 26th of July movement while en route from Miami to Varadero. He and thirteen others died when the aircraft crashed in Nipe Bay in Oriente province after they were unable to find an airstrip to land. A witness-survivor testified that he was murdered by the hijackers before the plane crashed. 
Ruskin Medrano had worked for Cubana de Aviación for fourteen years. He had a wife, a ten-year old daughter and a five-year old son.

Piloto de del Vuelo CU-495 de Cubana de Aviación que fue secuestrado por un commando del Movimiento del 26 de Julio mientras se dirigía de Miami a Varadero. Él y otros trece murieron cuando el avión se estrelló en la bahía de Nipe en la provincia de Oriente después que no pudieron encontrar una pista de aterrizaje. Un testigo-sobreviviente testificó que fue asesinado por los secuestradores antes de que el avión se estrellara. Ruskin Medrano había trabajado para Cubana de Aviación durante catorce años.
