Case description:

Calixto had a leadership role in the attack on the Presidential Palace in Havana on March 13, 1957, in a failed effort to assassinate Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista. Forced into exile in Miami, Florida, he soon returned to Cuba heading a paramilitary expedition, mustered by the Organización Auténtica, aboard the yacht Corynthia. After shipwrecking, Calixto and fifteen of his troops who surrendered to the army were summarily executed.  
He was a World War II Canadian Army veteran who served on the board of directors of Cubana de Aviación, where he worked as a pilot. He had been Secretary General of the Cuban National Air Federation (FAN) for eight years, Juridical Affairs Secretary of the Cuban Confederation of Workers (CTC), and a leader of the Cuban Anti-Communist Directorate (his activism had led to a CTC resolution in 1954 banning Communists from the labor movement).
He had been born in Glasgow, Scotland; his father was a Cuban diplomat in the U.K. and his mother a British.

Calixto tuvo un papel de liderazgo en el ataque al Palacio Presidencial en La Habana el 13 de marzo de 1957, en un intento fallido de asesinar al dictador cubano Fulgencio Batista. Forzado a irse al exilio en Miami, Florida, pronto regresó a Cuba encabezando una expedición paramilitar, reunida por la Organización Auténtica, a bordo del yate Corynthia. Después que el yatte naufragó, Calixto y quince de sus compañeroa rindieron al ejército y fueron ejecutados sumariamente.
Era un veterano del ejército canadiense de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y formó parte de la junta directiva de Cubana de Aviación, donde trabajó como piloto. Fue Secretario General de la Federación Aérea Nacional  de Cuba (FAN) durante ocho años, Secretario de Asuntos Jurídicos de la Confederación Cubana de Trabajadores (CTC) y líder de la Dirección anticomunista cubana (su activismo llevó a una resolución de la CTC en 1954 que excluyó a los comunistas del movimiento obrero).
Había nacido en Glasgow, Escocia; su padre era diplomático cubano en el Reino Unido y su madre británica.
