Case description:

The young man was serving a prison sentence in a low security camp (known as "Tarea Confianza) located near the town of San Andrés, Holguín province. On Thursday 8/8/2011, he left the camp to visit his girlfriend, who lived in the neighborhood of Tasajera, but did not return.  Camp officials ordered him captured. Two days later, police  agents of the Unit for Search and Capture found him in town and police agents shot him in the head, chest, and one arm, killing him. His relatives insist he did not resist arrest violently, although he did attempt to run from police. Police agents, in turn, said he pulled a firearm that was found next to the body. The family denies the official version and claims the gun was planted to justify the crime.

Este joven estaba cumpliendo una pena de prisión en un campamento de baja seguridad (conocido como "Tarea Confianza) ubicado cerca del pueblo de San Andrés, provincia de Holguín. El jueves 8/8/2011, dejó el campamento para visitar a su novia, que vivía en el barrio cercano de Tasajera. Dos días más tarde, agentes de la Policía de la Unidad de Búsqueda y Captura lo encontraron y agentes de policía le dispararon en la cabeza, el pecho y un brazo, matándolo Sus familiares insisten en que él no se resistió violentamente, aunque intentó huir de la policía.Los agentes de policía, a su vez, dijeron que tiró un arma de fuego que se encontró junto al cuerpo.La familia niega la versión oficial y dice que el arma fue plantada para justificar el crimen.
