Case description:

Executed at 4:30am and buried on Oct. 16th, 1960 in an unmarked grave at St. Ifigenia Cemetery, Santiago de Cuba (lot W, row 4, grave 25, bottom body).  The US citizen and Korean war veteran landed in October 1960 to help liberate Cuba from Communism. He was part of a group of 29 men led by Armentino Feria that landed in Navas Bay, near Moa, province of Oriente, to start a rebel operation. Allen was captured with three others, including US citizen Robert Fuller, sentenced to death by a revolutionary tribunal in a summary trial, and executed immediately. The U.S. filed a diplomatic note of protest which was rejected by the Castro government.  Before his execution, his blood was forcibly extracted. Cuban writer Norberto Fuentes recounts how in 1987 Fidel and Raúl Castro were gloating about having had the Americans executed. Thompson's uncle and aunt, who reared him after his mother’s death, appealed to the Cuban government through the Red Cross for the return of their nephew’s body, but their requests were denied.

Desembarcó en octubre de 1960 con Armentino Feria en la Bahía de Navas, cerca de Moa, provincia de Oriente para iniciar una operación guerrillera, fue capturado y sentenciado a muerte por un tribunal revolucionario en un breve juicio sumario y ejecutado de inmediato. Estados Unidos presentó una nota diplomática de protesta que fue rechazada por el gobierno de Castro. Antes de su ejecución, su sangre fue extraída por la fuerza. El escritor cubano Norberto Fuentes relata cómo en 1987 Fidel y Raúl Castro se regodeaban de haber ejecutado a los estadounidenses.
