Case description:

Left Cuba (from Playa Buenavista, La Demajagua, Isla de Pinos), at dawn on Feb. 1, 2011, part of a group of 18, aboard the vessel "La Talía." According to the father of one of the escapees who disappeared, 24 days later Cuban border guards detected the vessel near the coast of Pinar del Río with just one body on board, that of Wilfredo Peña Leyva, and it was riddled with bullets. Ariel's family denounced the incident to Cuban authorities, to no avail.  The name of only three victims is known.

Salió de Cuba (desde Playa Buenavista, La Demajagua, Isla de Pinos), al amanecer del 1 de febrero de 2011, parte de un grupo de 18 personas a bordo del barco "La Talía". Según el padre de uno de los que desaparecieron, 24 días después los guardias fronterizos cubanos detectaron el barco cerca de la costa de Pinar del Río con solo un cuerpo a bordo, el de Wilfredo Peña Leyva, y estaba acribillado a balazos. La familia de Ariel denunció el incidente a las autoridades cubanas, sin éxito. Solo se conoce el nombre de tres víctimas.
