Case description:

Member of the 2506 Brigade of Cuban exiles that landed at Bay of Pigs with U.S. government (CIA) support in an attempt to liberate Cuba from Communism. He was one of ten men who died during a 16-day ordeal in high seas (April 19 to May 5, 1961) from a group of 22 who had escaped Cuba in the 20-foot small fishing vessel 'Celia' after the invasion had failed. Some resorted to cannibalism to survive. Twelve survivors were rescued by the U.S. cargo ship Atlanta Seaman a hundred miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi River; two died soon thereafter.
While at sea, Alejandro dove into the ocean armed with a knife to kill a nearby shark so that he and his comrades in the boat could eat its flesh and drink its blood but the shark swam away.

Fue una de 10 víctimas fatales de una odisea de 16 días en alta mar (19 de abril a 5 de mayo de 1961) por un grupo de 22 que escapó de Cuba en el barco pesquero 'Celia' de 20 pies al haber fracasado la invasión.
