Case description:

Anti-Castro guerrilla band leader in Camagüey, former member of the Frías and Ernesto Díaz Brunet's guerrilla bands, captured, taken to El Serrucho military camp for questioning and tortured by Lieutenant Arturo Hernández, of the rebel-hunting militias. He was beaten and subjected to repeated water dunking while he was tied up and had his mouth covered. After nearly drowning, he had his stomach pumped, to be tried and executed by firing squad. He displayed a defiant attitude before the firing squad platoon. Two of his brothers, Heriberto and Rafael, were killed in combat.

Líder de una banda guerrillera anticastrista en Camagüey, ex miembro de las bandas guerrilleras Frías y Ernesto Díaz Brunet, capturado, llevado al campamento militar de El Serrucho para ser interrogado y torturado por el teniente castrista Arturo Hernández, de las milicias caza rebeldes. Fue golpeado y sumergido bajo agua mientras estaba atado y tenía la boca tapada. Después de casi ahogarse, le bombearon el estómago, para ser juzgado y ejecutado por un pelotón de fusilamiento. Mostró una actitud desafiante ante el pelotón de fusilamiento. Dos de sus hermanos, Heriberto y Rafael murieron combatiendo contra las milicias de Castro.
