Case description:

He and nine others fled Cuba in a 14ft. boat April 25, 2002 from Cabañas Harbor, Pinar del Río province, hoping to reach the U.S. and obtain asylum. Four days later (April 29th), three bodies were found floating near Key Largo, Florida. One was a woman part of their group identified by U.S. forensic authorities with assistance from her family members. The U.S. Coast Guard reported that their boat had not been found. He was reportedly from Artemisa or Cabañas.

Él y otros nueve huyeron de Cuba en un barco  de 14 pies el 25 de abril de 2002 desde el puerto de Cabañas, provincia de Pinar del Río, con la esperanza de llegar a Estados Unidos y obtener asilo. Cuatro días después (29 de abril), se encontraron tres cuerpos flotando cerca de Key Largo, Florida. Una era una mujer que formaba parte de su grupo identificada por las autoridades forenses de Estados Unidos con la ayuda de sus familiares. La Guardia Costera de los Estados Unidos informó que no se había encontrado su bote. Según los informes, era de Artemisa o Cabañas.
