Case description:

He and seven members of a clandestine revolutionary were hunted and killed after a failed attempt to kill a soldier. All eight killed were: Gilberto López Bosch, Mardonio Hechavarría Remón, Luis Felipe Lotty Osorio, Vicente Quesada O´Conor, Idalberto Tamayo Maceo, Pedro Batista Fonseca, Rubén Nogueras Castillo y Mario Enrique Alarcón Martínez.

Revolucionario muerto a tiros en Bayamo, Oriente, por las tropas del ejército de Batista liderado por el Capitán Pedro Morejón. Era parte del movimiento 26 de julio de Bayamo y presumiblemente parte de la célula de Pompita que el 20 de octubre de 1957 había fracasado en un intento de ajusticiar al militar Roberto Ríos, alias Campeón, por orden de Giberto López, que había enviado a sus compañeros de lucha una nota escondida en una caja de cigarros. Se desató una cacería la noche del 21 de octubre de 1957 en las casas de siete jóvenes revolucionarios señalados de antemano, a quienes ultimaron. Sus cuerpos aparecieron tirados en distintas arterias de la ciudad, causando profunda consternación entre los bayameses. Sus nombres eran: Gilberto López Bosch, Mardonio Hechavarría Remón, Luis Felipe Lotty Osorio, Vicente Quesada O´Conor, Idalberto Tamayo Maceo, Pedro Batista Fonseca, Rubén Nogueras Castillo y Mario Enrique Alarcón Martínez.
