Case description:

According to a neighbor and family friend, William was not part of the resistance. He was only 16 years old and had gone to the movies with a friend who had mental problems. Upon leaving, they were detained by security forces, incorrectly implicated with the resistance, and murdered. According to Ecured, he was a member of the July 26 Movement in Santiago de Cuba. On Sunday, December 30, 1956, when some 30 bombs exploded in Santiago, he was in charge with Froilán Guerra Ramírez of placing a bomb in the baseball stadium. They were arrested and their bodies appeared on the road from Ciudamar to the Titan factory. According to the autopsy, William had three wounds on the left side of his face and head caused by large-caliber projectiles; The three shots were fired at close range and the third was fired as a coup de grâce. The soldiers Enrique Despaigne Nonet and René Caso Pérez were later executed on the orders of Raúl Castro for the murder.

Según una vecina y amiga de la familia, William no era parte de la resistencia. Tenía solo 16 años y había ido al cine con un amigo que tenía problemas mentales.
