Case description:

Disappeared at sea in a small motorboat (belonging to a state maritime enterprise) with two friends who had taken the boat from their workplace at the port of Palo Alto, Ciego de Avila in an exit attempt from Cuba. The Cuban government confirmed they had taken a vessel out to sea and a search had been commanded, but they had been caught in a storm (despite good weather that day). They were officially declared disappeared. After five years of desperately searching for them, a distant relative of Miguel Guerra Mora who was a member of Cuba's Border Guard sent them word to stop looking because they had been gunned down and killed to prevent the escape.

Desapareció en el mar en una pequeña lancha (perteneciente a una empresa marítima estatal) con dos amigos que habían tomado la embarcación desde su lugar de trabajo en el puerto de Palo Alto, Ciego de Ávila en un intento de salida de Cuba. El gobierno cubano confirmó que habían sacado un barco al mar y se había ordenado una búsqueda, pero que habían sido atrapados en una tormenta (a pesar del buen tiempo ese día). Fueron declarados oficialmente desaparecidos. Después de cinco años de buscarlos desesperadamente, un pariente lejano de Miguel Guerra Mora, que era miembro de la Guardia Fronteriza de Cuba, les envió un mensaje para que dejaran de buscar porque habían sido baleados y asesinados para evitar la fuga.
